A conflict-affected child in Somalia WISHES FOR
A school textbook to improve their learning outcomes.
£5.00
Find out moreSomalia has long-standing political instability, armed conflict leading to a sectarian war and environmental stress. 3 million children have been left with no access to education. Retention and continuation are a challenge as institutional education capacity remains weak. The lack of learning materials in schools poses a severe threat as the ratio of materials to learners stands at 1:9.
Windle International empowers people to make lasting change in their own lives, in their communities and in wider society. We do this by creating access to quality education and training across East Africa and the Horn of Africa for refugees, communities affected by conflict, and those who have been marginalised in society. Windle International considers good quality education as a key element in reducing the risk of extremism and establishing peace. Since 2018, Windle International SOM has supported thousands of children, supplying educational materials, peer-counsellor training, professional development for teachers, mentorship, and re-usable facemasks and COVID-19 preventative information to learners and teachers.

A Young Person WISHES FOR
Donate a Slappy box to The Boarding School
£0.00
Find out moreOur new skate school project has been really busy in it's first few weeks. It's great to be welcoming young people back into the youth centre again. We'd really like to add to the equipment we have on offer and this donation will enable us to purchase a new slappy box. What's that? well its a grind-able box for skateboarding, that allows the skaters to 'slap' or ride straight onto it, much more easy and accessible to new skaters!
It is a huge donation so our young people are putting their subs towards the box too (it's total cost is £175). The box will be dedicated in your name if you wish, or just a personalised message and create years of memories and fun in our Skate School.
